Still time to attend FAHOF banquet and induction ceremony, Sunday Golfing events and carnival - cancelled Dance Still Going On!

This weekend is the 2nd Flandreau Athletic Hall of Fame celebration, and there’s been a couple of changes in the schedules but there’s still tickets available to attend the banquet and induction ceremony.
Six high school athletes, three amateur athletes, a coach, a contributor and three teams of excellence from Flandreau Indian or Flandreau Public School will be inducted.
Due to the flooding at River’s Bend Golf Course, both golfing events unfortunately need to  be cancelled. The course is simply too wet to play.

The Sports Carnival that was scheduled for Saturday, July 6 has been cancelled, but the dance that evening is set to go.
The street dance will begin on main street at 8 pm and run until midnight. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. This is a fundraiser for the FAHOF. The band is O.I.T. with local musicians, Jarrod Lee, Chuck Jones, Myles Zephier and Owen Parsley. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chair.
On Sunday, July 7, the banquet and induction ceremony will take place in the Royal Room at Royal River Casino. Social hour begins at 3:30 p.m. with a buffet meal starting at 5 pm and the induction ceremony at 6 pm.
There are still limited tickets remaining for the banquet and induction ceremony. The cost is $30. Please either stop by Stuart Zephier’s home at 112 E. Prospect Avenue in Flandreau or email him as soon as possible, fahof2023@gmail.com.
If anyone has any silent auction items to donate, they should also contact Zephier.
Those to be inducted include Billy Cone, Mike Talks Different, Neil Teer, Jr., Theresa Moss Oldman, Charissa Sheppard Covey and Charles Knutson, the 1971 FIS boys state champion cross country team, the 1976 FHS girls state champion track and field team, the 1983 FHS boys state champion golf team, Daryl Christensen, Vern Halter, Craig Severtson, Georgia Adolph and John Shaeffer.
