After months of meetings and planning for another festive holiday season, volunteers, local business owners and city employees have put up the last string of lights on the County Courthouse lawn and throughout the City of Flandreau.
The activity is all in preparation for another downtown holiday celebration this coming Saturday, November 25.
The “Country Christmas” Parade of Lights kicks off at 6pm sharp. Entrants are asked to line up by 5:30 behind the County Courthouse. The parade route leaves the Courthouse and heads downtown before looping back around to the Courthouse lawn where a tree lighting ceremony, caroling, and a Tour of Trees is scheduled to follow.
The events are free and open to all. Many businesses ahead of the parade will be serving up snacks in the hopes that longtime friends and other new visitors to town might stop in to warm up.
