Rep. Randy Gross, R-District 8 has filled his nominating petitions to seek re-election.
Gross, a Moody County farmer who has served his first two-year term, was appointed by Republican leadership to the November ballot in 2018 to replace Leslie Heinemann who withdrew from the race.
Representing citizens of District 8 is a high honor, one that is both humbling and challenging, Gross said in his re-election announcement. Because of positive encouragement he received, he decided to seek a second term.
“My goal has always been to do my best to represent the diverse interests of our area for the betterment of our great state,” he said. “I look forward to new challenges that will present themselves while working to make South Dakota a home that reflects our self-reliant values and God-given freedoms.”
