National Day of Prayer to be held Thursday, May 2nd

Posted

National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 2, 2019. The annual event will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial on the grounds of the Moody County Courthouse at 12 noon. This year’s theme is “Love one another” and is derived from John 13:34 in the Bible which says, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you.” The public is encouraged to attend and participate in the event on that day.
A list of local participants including government, business, church leaders from the community will be on hand that day to pray for the church in America, families, workplaces, communities and cities, as well as different ethnicities. Prayers will also be given for the seven “centers of influence in America” including our government, military, media, business, education, church and families in our nation.
The groups mission statement says; “The National Day of Prayer mobilizes unified public prayer for America.” The day has been observed at the Moody County Courthouse for many years.
