Johnson promoted to Executive Director

Posted

Alison Johnson has been promoted at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living Center in Flandreau to the role of Executive Director. Johnson started with Edgewood eight years ago as a caregiver and initially at the Brookings facility. She has since worked her way up through the ranks. Johnson takes over for Lisa Sonnenberg, who moves to assume the Executive Director role at the Edgewood facility in Brookings. Sonnenberg lives in the Brookings area, the new placement allows her to be closer to home.
“I am definitely going to miss a lot about Edgewood and Flandreau, the staff, the residents, their families and the relationships in the community,” Sonnenberg told the Moody County Enterprise.
Johnson meanwhile, moved closer to home with her job after the birth of her twins, she and her family live in Flandreau. She started as a caregiver at the Flandreau facility in 2018. Monday this week was her official start date in her new role.
“I hope to continue to provide the same environment and quality care for our residents that Lisa has set, there is still so much to learn as new things pop up. It’s not a routine job. But I already know the families well from working on the floor the past 3-4 years and the background of what it takes to work on the floor. I am very excited about it.”
