Flandreau residents can spend a lot of time on two wheels next week with biking events that are encouraging people to get active.
Bike week kicks off May 14 with a simulated bike lane on Pipestone Avenue and a bike rodeo nearby on the Moody County Courthouse lawn. Adults and children are asked to ride their bikes to the event to be entered into prize drawings for bicycles, helmets and bike swag. The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include Big Bear BBQ’s food truck with items for purchase.
On May 15, a group of riders will go to lunch together in an event called Pizza and Pedals starting at 11 a.m. at the West End Plaza. After a short ride, the group will eat lunch at the Royal River Casino and ride back to the plaza together.
