Moody County Commissioners this past week agreed to an increase in pay for election workers after gaining a better understanding of the lengthy day they face each election, and as ongoing challenges remain for workers with the pandemic.
The Commissioners agreed to raise pay from $130/day to $200/day for the approximate 50 workers that work a 7am-7pm shift.
The new rate goes into effect immediately and will apply this year to the two elections scheduled for June and November. County officials will begin looking for volunteers in the coming months. Workers must be registered voters and each polling location must have a certain make up of poll workers from each party. For anyone interested in working the polls, contact the Auditor office.
