The Moody Post 3351 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be distributing “Buddy Poppies” this Saturday at locations around Flandreau in honor of Memorial Day weekend.
The VFW Buddy Poppies ae made by disabled American Veterans. Please support them with a donation and proudly wear a poppy. All donations stay with the local post.
When you see a volunteer in a local store, please stop and support them with your donation.
The Buddy Poppy is a flower closely related to the VFW and symbolic of the bloodshed during World War I. They are worn as a reminder of those who fought and died for America and as a symbol of sacrifice. Community members are asked to give what they can and wear the poppies in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
