Riverview Healthcare staff member wins state award

Posted

Ricojey Francisco is known at Riverview Healthcare Community in Flandreau simply as "Rico." In his time there, it has become clear he has an unparalleled dedication to the mission of serving residents and supporting his fellow staff members.

In his role as Dietary Aide, he takes a strong interest in ensuring that the special requests of each resident are met. On a daily basis, he excels in meeting the needs of residents and the overall needs of the department in which he works.

On days when Rico is not in the building, the residents take notice! He is truly an asset to Riverview Healthcare Community and to all the residents he comes into contact with each day. His hard work and dedication are plain to see, and he is a very deserving recipient of the February 2018 Millie of the Month award!

“On behalf of the long term care residents and South Dakota Health Care Association, I want to express to Ricojey how much we, as a community, appreciate your effort and dedication and investing so much of yourself on behalf of your elderly and disabled residents,” said Mark B. Deak, South Dakota Health Care Executive Director.

The Millie Award was created by South Dakota Health Care Association and named after its first recipient Mildred Olson of Garretson who was an exceptional caregiver. This Award is open to any South Dakota Health Care Association Member. Each month’s recipient is eligible to be named the “Millie of the Year Award,” which is announced each September at an Awards Ceremony during South Dakota Health Care Association’s Fall Convention.
