New VA Appts. Ride option for County Veterans

Posted

Moody County Veterans have another option for transportation to VA appointments in Sioux Falls.  The DAV (Disabled American Veterans) operates a fleet of vehicles around South Dakota to provide free transportation to VA medical facilities. Randy Tollefson is a new volunteer driver for the DAV, and he’ll be assisting Moody County Veterans with transportation to and from the VA in Sioux Falls. “All Veterans are eligible,” Randy explained.
“If you served and you need a ride, please let us know.  We’d love to be able to assist.”
The process is simple. If you’re a Veteran that would need transportation to appointments at the VA, all you have to do is contact Darrell Goth, the DAV Van coordinator, at 605-291-9423, and he’ll try to arrange for Randy or one of the other volunteers to pick you up.
Because the drivers are all volunteers, it’s best if you can make your requests as far in advance as possible.

Randy Tollefson is a member of the American Legion Post 70, Lifetime member of  VFW Post 3351, and Lifetime member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
If you’d have questions about the DAV transportation program, the VFW, the American Legion, or how you can help support Moody County’s Veterans, he can be reached at 605.864.1690.
