Covid still adding cases

While the number of new COVID-19 cases in Moody County had dwindled to a trickle, this week’s report shows a slight uptick.
The county has had 619 cases overall, with an increase of seven over last week. A dozen cases are active and 591 have recovered, as of Monday’s state report.
Three additional cases have been reported among students in the Flandreau School District. One middle school student and two students in high school are out of school after testing positive, as of Monday. That brings the total number of positive tests for students to 48.

The number of vaccinations in the county has increased in the past week, as well.
State data shows that 796 people who live in the county have received vaccinations, as of Monday. That includes 322 people who have received both doses and 474 people who have received the first dose. That totals 1,118 shots.
That number doesn’t include roughly another 300 people who have been vaccinated at the tribal clinic.
Moody County also has had 16 deaths, 47 hospitalizations and 1,738 negative test results in the last year.
