Community meeting held on CO2 pipeline

Posted

Dozens of area landowners, farmers and other concerned citizens met this past weekend to learn more about the proposed Heartland Greenway C02 pipeline that is slated to run through Moody County.
The proposed Heartland Greenway line would run south through Moody County, originating at the Valero Ethanol Plant in Aurora. It would run south and east through the state touching Minnesota and Nebraska and extend throughout Iowa before ultimately ending at an underground storage facility in Illinois. That is, if the line gets approved by the state Public Utilities Commission. Currently, Heartland Greenway has not officially filed paperwork to build in the state, but the expectation is that it will happen later this summer or early this fall, company officials tell the Moody County Enterprise.
Reports of the meeting will be in next week’s Moody County Enterprise.
