A busy week of track and field greeted the Flier athletes after the Easter Holiday Break but the rain and cool temperatures stopped them from attending the Tea Invitational.
ALCESTER – Flandreau did take several Fliers to the Mike Sievert Relays in Alcester on Tuesday, April 22 and then participated in the Flier Booster Club Invitational on Saturday.
Place winners at Alcester were boys 800 meter run, Pedro Barona in a time of 2:19.21 for sixth and Kenton James in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:04.54 for fourth place. In the field Xavier Bien took sixth in the discus at 114’11”.
FLANDREAU – The Fliers earned two first place finishes at the Flandreau Booster Club Invitational Track and Field meet held Saturday at the Barnes-Evans track.
Cooler and windy weather found the athletes facings the weather challenges.
For the boys, the medley relay team of Micah Otto, Ben Kulm, Paul Parsley and Brenton Westberry ran the race in a time of 3:46.60.
On the girls side, Faith Wiese was the lone gold medalist with an 800 meter run of 2:20.18
