Who will plan Park Days? Could it be You?

While many of us are planning our camping trips, ball games, and other summer events there is one event looking for a new organizer. The Park Days board is looking to pass the reins of planning Riverside Park Days and is hoping someone reading this is interested.
Riverside Park Days or Park Days, as it is shortened by most, was first organized by members of the Flandreau Park Board. Board members organized almost a decade worth of Riverside Park Days before hanging up their hats. Members of that board still spend time in the summer planting flowers throughout the park’s flowerbeds.
The event was then revived by a new group of young ladies and some of their spouses in 2014, calling themselves the Park Days Board. The original members of the group included Kelley Ramsdell, Alison Ramsdell, Jason Unger, Katie Skroch, Bruce Parks, Heather and Travis Peper, and Melanie Duncan.

Throughout the last 10 years the members have changed, but the vision has remained the same. To plan a great event for the community while raising funds to improve the park.
The Board’s hard work can now be seen when entering Flandreau City Park when looking at the new playground equipment. The new playground was made possible from the funds raised by the Park Days Board through Park Days and a grant applied for by the City of Flandreau.
Now with their goal accomplished the Park Days Board is ready to retire after a decade of planning. Members truly hope someone else will take over the planning of this great family event.
Anyone wanting to take over the event and wanting advice can reach out to the Park Days Board through their Facebook page Riverside Park Days.
