VFW Offering Flag Exchange this Friday, Flag Day

Posted

VFW Post 3351 will be hosting its annual flag exchange on Flag Day, Friday June 14th from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Veterans’ Center. The public is encouraged to bring any flags that need to be retired and get a new one to fly proudly at their home or business.
While there is no charge for a new flag, donations are gladly accepted. Any proceeds that exceed the cost of the flags are used to support Veterans and their families right here in Moody County.
The VFW hosts this annual event to provide a convenient way to properly dispose of worn flags.
“We retire the flags with proper etiquette, and while it’s a solemn, private ceremony, we’re just really glad to do it. This is a small service we can provide the community — a small way to thank them for all the support,” said Bridget Flannery, Post Commander.
Flannery added, “We love to see people flying the flag, so we try to make it easy for Folks to get a new one. Flag Day is the perfect opportunity.”
