As winter approaches and the ballfields on Egan’s south side grew quieter, city officials report recent vandalism, including damage to the roof of the concession stand and two attempted break-ins. Little damage was done, no formal charges have been filed, and no suspects have been identified. The incidents, however, are disheartening for the close-knit town, which takes pride in its fields, facilities, and grounds — maintained largely by community volunteers.
