BROOKINGS — Brookings Health System’s free six-week educational series, Understanding Grief, will begin Aug. 29. The class series is led by social worker Donna Bumann.
Sessions will be Thursdays through Oct. 10 from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. at Brookings Health System’s Conference Room C. There will be no class on Sept. 19.
The classes are designed to help those who have lost a loved one learn about the process of grief and how to navigate it. Topics include the symptoms and process of grief, coping strategies, caring for one’s self, and the continuing bond that occurs. Discussions are confidential and carried out in an atmosphere of understanding and support.
