RAPID CITY — On Sept. 7, the third of four temporary closures on Interstate 190 and exit 57 in Rapid City is scheduled to take place starting at 5 a.m. MDT. Both I-190 and exit 57 are scheduled to reopen on Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. MDT.
This closure allows crews to complete the installation of girders and falsework on the Anamosa Street Bridge over I-190. A signed detour route will be provided to motorists around the closure utilizing exit 55 (Deadwood Avenue), exit 61 (U.S. Highway 16B), and state Highway 44 (Omaha Street).
When the roadway is reopened, two-way traffic will be placed in the northbound lanes of I-190.
This closure is part of an ongoing bridge replacement project that consists of mainline work on I-190 and replacement of the Anamosa Street Bridge.
The prime contractor on the $10.6 million project is Heavy Constructors Inc. of Rapid City. The project completion date is Nov. 22.
