Retiring Flandreau School Superintendent and Athletic Director Rick Weber was presented with a Star Quilt during the recently held boys’ basketball Parent Night in honor of his 35 years of service to the district and for all he has done to improve athletic opportunities for Flier athletes. The presentation was made by members of the Flandreau Athletic Hall of Fame, the Flier Booster Club and Flandreau athletic teams. Presenting the quilt were three members of Weber’s 1997 boys basketball team that won the Class A championship that season, Tobin Bakkedahl, Brendan Sheppard and Mike Smith. It was also announced this evening the undefeated 1997 team will be inducted in the FAHOF Class of 2025 this summer.
