Finding just the right dress or tux for prom isn’t easy. Maybe the fit isn’t quite right, or the color isn’t what you had in mind. For many, the biggest challenge can simply be the price tag.
For students at Flandreau Indian School, all of the above can be factors. Many are far from home with limited resources — not just financially, but also in terms of transportation and free time to shop for the perfect outfit.
That’s why the Moody County Boys & Girls Club has stepped up to help ensure FIS students have what they need to feel confident and celebrated on prom night.
They’re also hoping for the community’s support to make it happen.
“We have gotten some slightly used prom dresses for the girls to have new options this year, but we are still looking for suits,” said board member Kari Burggraff.
