The Flandreau Cardinals split a pair of games this week and are now 5-3 on the season.

Flandreau lost to the Dell Rapids Mudcats 15-0 on Thursday and then beat Dell Rapids PBR 3-2 on Sunday.

The Cardinals will host the Flandreau Blue Teal on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Flandreau Cardinals split a pair of games this week and are now 5-3 on the season.
Flandreau lost to the Dell Rapids Mudcats 15-0 on Thursday and then beat Dell Rapids PBR 3-2 on Sunday.
The Cardinals will host the Flandreau Blue Teal on Friday at 7 p.m.

Dell Rapids Mudcats 15, Flandreau 0 (7 inn.)
The Cardinals offense failed to get going on Thursday as they had just four hits.
Dell Rapids led 3-0 after two innings. The Mudcats scored a run in the first inning on an RBI single and then added two runs on a single in the second.

The Mudcats extended the lead to 9-0 in the third. The first run of the inning came on a single and the next one was on an error. A two-run double then pushed the lead to 7-0 and a two-run single later in the inning gave the Mudcats a nine-run lead heading into the fourth.
Dell Rapids added two runs in the sixth. The first came on an RBI double and a run from a ground out made it 11-0. A two-run double in the seventh made it 13-0 and an RBI single and a fielder’s choice pushed the lead to 15-0.
Flandreau was unable to score six runs in the bottom of the inning and the game ended due to the 10-run rule.
Keith Cutler was 2-for-2 and Zak Wallner was 1-for-2. Austin Koenig was 1-for-3.
Drew Weber got the start for the Cardinals and pitched two and a third innings. He gave up nine runs, eight earned, on 10 hits with one strikeout and no walks. Devon Burgaff pitched the next three innings and gave up two earned runs on one hit with three walks. Luke Gassman pitched two thirds of an inning and gave up four runs, three earned, on three hits with one strikeout and two walks. Cutler pitched the final inning and gave up no runs on one hit.

Flandreau 3, Dell Rapids PBR 2

Wallner capped off a three-run ninth inning with a walk-off RBI double and the Cardinals bounced back from Thursday with a dramatic victory.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the first inning on an RBI double. PBR then extended the lead in the top of the ninth with an RBI single and it looked like Dell Rapids was on its way to getting the victory.
Gassman led off the bottom of the ninth with a single. Beau Severtson then hit a single as well and the Cardinals had runners on first and second with one out. Gassman advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Cutler.
JaColby Anderson then hit Severtson home with a single and tied the game. Anderson advanced to second on a single from R Weber and then came home as the winning run on the Wallner double.
Flandreau had 10 hits as a team. Cutler was 2-for-4 with an RBI and both Anderson and Wallner were 1-for-4 with an RBI. Weber was 2-for-4 and Gassman was 2-for-2. Both of the Severtson’s were 1-for-3.
Wallner pitched the first seven and a third innings. He gave up one earned run on six hits with eight strikeouts and no walks. Severtson got the win and pitched the final inning and two thirds. He gave up one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
