BROOKINGS — South Dakota State University Extension 4-H is has welcomed Whitney Sams as the new Moody County 4-H program assistant.
In conjunction with SDSU Extension 4-H, Sams will oversee 4-H programs and activities for youth in Moody County to provide positive youth development opportunities. Her office is in Flandreau.
“I am excited to learn, understand and carry out the 4-H motto while learning how to better serve communities and families,” Sams said.
Hilary Risner, SDSU Extension program manager and regional youth educator, said Sams’ experience combined with her passion for learning and helping people make her a strong fit for the role.
“We are excited to have Whitney joining our team of 4-H professionals. Her desire to serve the youth of Moody County through 4-H will prove to be an incredible asset to the community,” Risner said. “Whitney’s past management roles have set her up for success for this position as she works to deliver the SDSU Extension mission within Moody County’s 4-H programs. She is eager to learn and hit the ground running.”
