SDSU, Dakota Layers team up to fight hunger

For the ninth year in a row, Dakota Layers partnered with South Dakota State University Athletics to donate a dozen eggs to Feeding South Dakota for every free throw made by SDSU’s men’s and women’s basketball teams at First Bank & Trust Arena.
Thanks to 392 successful shots and a bonus pallet tossed in by Dakota Layers, 900 dozen eggs were delivered this past week to food pantries across the state.

“Eggs are always in high demand, and getting thousands of them right before Easter is just incredible,” said Lori Dykstra, CEO of Feeding South Dakota.
The eggs arrived this past Tuesday at Feeding South Dakota’s Sioux Falls distribution center, just in time for families to enjoy them scrambled, baked, or deviled for the Easter holiday.
Dakota Layers has donated more than 5 million eggs to Feeding South Dakota since 2008. Marketing Director Tracy Ramsdell said the collaboration reflects their deep commitment to ensuring local families have access to nutritious food.
