Brooke Rollag says she is truly humbled by the recognition she’s been getting in her role as Economic Development Director with the Lake Area Improvement Corporation (LAIC).
Rollag, a 2006 Colman Egan graduate, was recently honored with the Excellence in Economic Development Award by the Governor’s Office on Economic Development. She was presented with the award during a ceremony on April 11th.
The banking sector was where Rollag spent 15 years before transitioning to Economic Development. During her time in banking, Rollag volunteered with the Colman Economic Development Corp., where she discovered her passion for community growth and economic prosperity.
She’s been instrumental in various initiatives aimed at supporting workforce development including initiatives in childcare, housing, industrial park growth, business retention, expansion, and overall improvement of quality of life in the region.
“I am truly humbled to receive this award, but I must emphasize that this achievement is the result of collective effort, teamwork, and partnerships. I am fortunate to work daily with an over the top committed board of directors, a vibrant business community, progressive local leaders, and in a State with a favorable business environment that promotes growth. Together, we have made a positive impact on our community and region, and I look forward to what lies ahead,” Rollag told the Moody County Enterprise.
In her role with the LAIC, state officials stated that her work serves as an inspiration to others — and underscores the importance of community engagement and the potential for individuals to make meaningful contributions to their local economies.
