Final preparations are underway for this year’s Flandreau Friday’s celebration.
Events will kick off this Friday at 5pm with opening ceremonies at the Wind Street main stage. Just a half a block away will be the food and retail vendor lineup and the kids’ booth where families will find an opportunity to do arts and crafts together, play games, have fun with a balloon artist and take advantage of the 605 Art Bus.

Among the entertainers are Dakota District Bags and Pipes, Flandreau City Band, Vanguard Squadron Flyover, Wakpa Ipaksan, Lion Dancers, Ballet Folklorico Estrella De Jalisco, Joel Wood and Tonia Jo Hall.
Among the food vendors are Annie’s Egg Rolls, Mad Mary’s, El Rinconsito, Leah’s Indian Tacos, Kimberly Smoothies, Taqueria el Tarasco, Mac and Cheese Food Truck, Craig’s Shaved Ice, Mariana Corn and Messiah Lefse.
Other vendors, community resources and supporting businesses that will have a presence include First National Bank giving out water and food vendor coupons, Claudia’s Boutique, Sweetgrass Soapery, Shenoa, the Breadbasket, Edgewood Vista and the Moody County Museum, Guadalupe Felix, Shinin Star Style, Unusual Items by Jerry, Kaitie Slaba, Camonindo Juntos, the Wholeness Center, Al’s Beads, ICAP, Call to Freedom and the Music Booster.
ICAP (Interlakes Community Action Partnership) is hosting a diaper drive during the event. The resource for families in need is looking for donations of diapers especially those sized three and larger.
