WILMOT — A pedestrian walking along state Highway 123 died after being struck by a vehicle near Wilmot early Sunday morning.
The names of the people involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates a 20-year-old male was walking in the southbound lane of Highway 123 early Sunday morning when he was struck by the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe also in the southbound lane. The driver was taken into custody for DUI and has other charges pending.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
