A new motor vehicle system is set to go live this month at the Moody County Treasurer’s Office, and staff are preparing for some updates to their service counter as well. The office will likely feature three workstations and windows instead of the two that have been the standard for years. The new system launches on Tuesday, February 18, and staff want to encourage anyone with February renewals to stop in early to avoid long wait times at the end of the month.

The Moody County Treasurer’s Office is gearing up for a big change as a new motor vehicle system from the state of South Dakota goes live next month.
To make the switch, the current system will shut down on February 13 at 4pm, and the office won’t be able to process any motor vehicle transactions on Friday, February 14.
After the Presidents Day holiday, the new system officially launches on Tuesday, February 18.
While the team is excited about the upgrade, they’re also asking for a little patience as they learn the ropes and work out any hiccups that may pop up along the way.
“If your last name starts with C, D, or E and your renewal is due in February, we’d love it if you could come in early — before February 13 — to help ease the transition,” said Moody County Treasurer Linette Christensen.
“And maybe hold off on buying that new car until we’ve had a chance to get everything running smoothly,” she added, jokingly.
For questions or more details, give the Treasurer’s Office a call at (605) 997-3171.
“Your patience will be greatly appreciated as we go through this transition,” said Christensen
