Colman-Egan junior Jase Mousel performed his best by leaps and bounds last week as he broke two school records – one in long jump and then two days later, one in triple jump.
He first leaped 21’1” to erase a 33 year old long jump record at the Alcester-Hudson Invitational track meet on May 7.
Then on Thursday, May 9, he notched his name in the triple jump event with a 42’3” jump.
The long jump record was previously held by Jason Hoeke (20’ 5”) set in 1991 - the first year the towns of Colman and Egan joined their schools together for sports.
The triple jump mark was previously held by Paul Clark (42’2.5”).

ALCESTER – The Hawk boys team placed fifth. Freeman Academy/Marion won with 100 points.
Besides his record setting long jump win, Mousel also won the triple jump with an effort of 41’ 7.5” on Tuesday. His brother Jack won the high jump at 6’2”.
The Mousel brothers then combined with Jackson Zwart and Chris Lee to win the 4x200 meter relay in a time of 1:34.98.
The girls team recorded a pair of wins and took second place in the team standings with 113 points. Centerville won with 141 points.
The Hawks 4x200 meter relay team of Daniela Lee, Finley Luze, Brynlee Landis and Crystal Silva-Dominguez went around the track twice in 1:50.51 to take first.
Silva-Dominguez also ran the 800 meter run and took the win in a time of 2:41.03.
