Moody County’s new 4-H P.A.

Posted

To bolster youth development initiatives in Moody County, South Dakota, South Dakota State University Extension 4-H is introducing Whitney Sams as its new Program Assistant.
The move is a welcome one, as Moody County 4-H leaders this past year weren’t sure what state support might remain for local programming as county officials worked through contractual changes with the Extension.

Sams will be based out of the 4-H office in Flandreau.
“I am excited to learn, understand, and carry out the 4-H motto while learning how to better serve communities and families,” Sams stated.
Hilary Risner, SDSU Extension Program Manager and Regional Youth Educator, said Sams’ background and dedication make her an ideal person for the position.
“Whitney’s past management roles have set her up for success for this position as she works to deliver the SDSU Extension mission within Moody County’s 4-H programs. She is eager to learn and hit the ground running,” Risner said.
