Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) is pleased to share the news of its 2024 grant funding totaling $134,747.38 to benefit 27 non-profit programs and organizations in Lake, Miner and Moody Counties, South Dakota. This investment underscores IAUW’s ongoing commitment to supporting essential initiatives that positively impact local communities.
Grant recipients span a diverse range of sectors, including education, healthcare, community development and social services. Each was selected for its outstanding contributions to the well-being of area residents, specifically in the areas of health, education and economic mobility.
“We are excited to continue our tradition of supporting programs and agencies which align with our values and address critical needs in the region,” said IAUW President Lori Gustaf. “By empowering organizations such as these, we can build stronger, more resilient communities.”
Approximately two-thirds of the recipients are based in and/or directly serve Moody County and will collectively receive $75,145. All 2024 recipients include:
American Red Cross: Disaster Cycle Services*, Boy Scouts of America: Sioux Council Boy Scouts*, Boys & Girls Club of Moody County*, Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Care Corner, Delta Dental Mobile Program – Madison visit, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library*, Domestic Violence Network, East Dakota Transit, Inc., Flandreau Weekend Fuel*, Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons: Leadership Experience*, High Plains Alternative School*, ICAP: 60’s Plus Dining*, ICAP: Delta Dental Mobile Program, Flandreau visit*, ICAP: Moody County School Supplies*, ICAP: Head Start Pre-Birth to Five*, ICAP: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance*, Interlakes Senior Citizens Center*, Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota: Mentoring Services at Flandreau School District*, Madison Baseball Association, Madison Middle School Makerspace Afterschool Club, Moody County Child Protection Team*, The Salvation Army*, Trinity Lutheran Preschool, The Wholeness Center*, Valiant Living, IAUW Caring Fund*.

Grant funding is made possible in part by the generosity of individuals and businesses who donated to IAUW’s most recent campaign drive, which concluded in December. Other fundraising efforts include IAUW’s annual WIN BIG Raffle and Dine Out to Donate promotion.
