Linda Ann Olson, 76, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away at her home on Friday, November 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church rural Flandreau, SD. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.
Linda Ann Wilcox, daughter of Edgar and Thelma (Wendehl) Wilcox was born July 24th, 1948 in Flandreau, SD. She attended and graduated from Flandreau High School.
Linda was united in marriage to Curtis D. Olson on July 2, 1966 in Flandreau, SD. Together, they farmed and raised two sons, Todd and Troy.
Linda loved life. In her younger years, she worked in a ceramics shop and was part of a bowling league. Linda loved to read and do word-search puzzles. She was an excellent fisherman, a hobby that started when she was a little girl. She was not only a good fisherman, but a good wife and would wash Curtis’ worms to keep their boat clean while fishing! She enjoyed riding motorcycles with Curtis and having coffee with the “ladies”. She loved watching a good western on tv and playing cards with grandkids.
Linda loved her family fiercely. Linda only had one sibling; a sister Sharon who was 10 years older than Linda, but the two were very close until Sharon’s death in 1999. Linda’s faith in Jesus and friends sustained her and brought her much joy in life.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Curtis Olson of Dell Rapids, SD; sons, Todd Olson of Trent, and Troy Olson (Di) of Garretson, SD; seven grandchildren, Tanner Olson (Ally) Flandreau, SD, Riley Olson, Sioux Falls, SD, Olivia, Grace, Delaney, Isaac, and Merritt Olson, Garretson, SD; 3 great-grandchildren Liam, Cooper, and Cameron, Flandreau, SD; brother-in-law, Ronnie Earley Sioux Falls, SD and sister-in-law, Shirley Laird (Les) Sioux Falls, SD and special nieces and nephews
Linda was proceeded in death by her parents, and sister, Sharon Earley.
