June Alice Ketcham, age 76, passed away surrounded by family at the Dougherty Hospice House on Tuesday, August 27 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. A celebration of June's life will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2024 at Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau, SD. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
June was born on June 10, 1948 to Jack and Alice Kucera. She grew up in Flandreau, South Dakota with her six siblings and graduated from high school in 1966.
No matter the challenges she encountered, June remained deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus, drawing strength and serenity from her steadfast belief. She always expressed care and love for her family. Her warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
June loved spending time with her grandchildren, eating out at favorite restaurants, and watching Gunsmoke and The Price Is Right. These all brought her comfort and joy throughout the years.
She is survived by her son, Josh Ketcham, her daughter, Kris (Matt) Crosby, grandchildren, Emily and Thomas, and siblings: Helen Johns, Doris Hepperle, Tony Kucera, Tom Kucera, Nila Gehrhart, and Debbie Critser. They will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alice Kucera. We find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them in heaven, where she is surely enjoying a cup of Aunt Betty Ann's coffee and Bill Millman's cookies.
