It’s Flandreau Friday time!

It’s time for Flandreau Friday to take the stage this weekend in town and members have a good line up of entertainment, food, shopping and fun on the schedule.
As always, it will be held in downtown Flandreau on Second Avenue and Wind Street and is the fifth year of existence.
“Flandreau Friday is more than just an event,” said committee member Itzel Graham. “It’s a celebration of who we are as a community. It’s a time for all of us to come together, appreciate our differences and share what make our little town so special.”
She added that there’s live entertainment, a large variety of foods to purchase from the vendors and that there’s the popular kids zone.
The stage will be located on the southend of the 100 block of Wind Street.

Food vendors will be serving on Second Avenue and include the tasty treats from Annie’s Egg Rolls, Boombastic BBQ, Boys & Girls Club, Craig’s Shaved Ice, El Rinconcitos, Grizzly Meats, JJ’s Coffee Spot/Spot Drive In, Leah’s Indian Tacos, Mad Mary’s Steakhouse, Sandy’s Snacks, and VFW Moody Post 3351’s hamburgers and hot dogs.
For the youngsters to enjoy, Elsa and Spider-Man will have a photo booth set up sponsored by First Savings Bank, there’s Mr. Twister balloons sponsored by First National Bank, face painting and the 605 Art Bus will be there for kids to decorate. And come with aim as the Flandreau Music Booster’s Dunk Tank will also be open so you can dunk a favorite Flandreau musician.
Vendors set up will include Dasha’s Jewelry, Hoffer’s Hobbies, Needful Things & Tasty Treats, B’alam Accessories, Color Street Nails & Make-up by Amber Sheehan, Wayword Messages, Shinin Star Style, Claudia’s Boutique, LeMayzing Crystals, Lyrical Life Essentials, Becky’s Beauty Bags, Sew Fun and the Flandreau Music Boosters.
“We may have some more vendors by Friday,” said member Yancie Harris.
The event is supported by several other local businesses including Bar X Bar, ELM Customs, El Rinconsito, Fat Boys, The Filling Station, Gone 2 Pieces, JJ’s Coffee Spot, Patriot Electric, Royal River Casino and The Merc.
Graham concluded, “Flandreau Friday is about connection, laughter and pride in our shared roots and diverse stories and, that’s why you won’t want to miss it.”
