Host Garretson in doubleheader

COLMAN – Both the Hawk boys and girls basketball teams participated in a double header on Friday hosting Garretson. The girls won while the boys dropped a close one.

Girls
Brynlee Landis scored 13, Kaylee Voelker nine and Presley Luze and Mya Rieff both scored eight points in a 45-37 non-conference win over the Garretson Blue Dragons.
The Hawks and Dragons were tied at the half, 23-all, before Colman-Egan turned up the scoring dumping in 22 second half points while holding Garretson to 14. The Hawks shot 41 percent as a team and were 56 percent from the free throw line.

Off the boards, Anna Zwart pulled down six of the Hawks’ 21 rebounds. Landis, Voelker and Jolie Flatten each made three steals.

Boys
The Hawk boys led after one quarter, 11-6 before Garretson settled in and out-scored them the next three quarters.
Heading into the half, the Blue Dragons led, 25-24 and also held a one point lead after three quarters, 37-35. They extended it a bit to win 52-47.
Jase Mousel led his Hawk team with 17 counters, and swiped down seven boards. Jackson Zwart connected for 11 points and topped the rebound stats with eight. He also made three assists. Julian Allen had five defensive rebounds.
The Hawks only had nine turnovers.
