Henderson first, Kriech second at Dells

Flandreau Public and Indian High Schools and Colman-Egan participated in a meet in Dell Rapids on April and then FIS and CE traveled to Garretson on Friday.

DELL RAPIDS – Flandreau’s Alfie Henderson and Colman-Egan’s Taylor Kriech came in first and second from a field of 70 golfers at the St. Mary Invitational golf meet held Tuesday, April 29 at Rocky Run Golf Course
Henderson shot a 74 and Kriech a 75 over the 18 holes.
Hanson won boys title combining for a 232 followed by Chester with a 245 and Baltic at 254.
Flandreau with a 255 and Colman-Egan with a 277 finished fifth and 12th respecitively.
Other Flier golfers were Jon Burshiem, Hunter Bushkofsky and Nate Hobbie.
For the Hawks, Jack Whitehouse, Landon Preheim, Davien Billmeier and Parker LeBrun also golfed.

Kaden Burshiem of FIS fired a 78 to place sixth.
For the girls, Colman-Egan’s Aspen Clark (103) and Mauryn Landis (104) came in 12th and 14th. Savanna Schmidt placed 17th with her 107. The Hawks placed fourth as a team shooting a 314.
St. Mary won the team portion with a 263 followed by Chester’s 282 and Baltic’s 312.
Chester’s Jadyn McDonald was medalist with a 77, 10 strokes better than the second place golfer.
Garretson Invite
GARRETSON – Flandreau Indian and Colman-Egan High Schools participated in the Garretson Invite held Friday, May 2 at River Ridge Golf Course.
Kaden Burshiem came in 17th firing a 45 on the course for FIS.
Holden Rentschler finished in 29th place with a 48. Parker LeBrun also golfed and recorded a 58.
Neither local school fielded enough boys golfers for the team scoring.
The girls team came in fourth scoring 108 points.
Taking eighth was Mauryn Landis shooting a 98 on the day.
23rd Savanna Schmidt finished in 23rd place with her 110 and Aspen Clark, 116, came in 29th.
For the Flandreau Indian Schools, Akira Fasthorse-Armell shot a 120 for 35th place and for Flandreau Public, Julianna Gaspar came in 41st with a 137.
The Flandreau boys did not compete at this meet.
