Fifth through 12th grade students in Mrs. Malerie Yeaton’s choir classes at Flandreau Schools were treated to a nearly hour long opera performance on Thursday, Nov. 12. University of South Dakota students performed several scenes from their upcoming showcase.
Opera scenes included from:
Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute), L’Etoile, Carmen, LeNozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Luisa Fernanda, The Gondoliers, Little Women, L’Amico Fritz, The Sorcerer, L’Italiana in Algeri and LaTraviata were performed.
The USD group will perform on November 23 at 7:30 p.m. and November 24 at 3 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall on the campus of USD in Vermillion.
