Hawks and Fliers prepare to soar

It’s hard to believe another school year is already wrapping up — and with it, another group of bright, determined local students are getting ready to head out into the world.
Graduation ceremonies begin this weekend in Colman, where the Colman-Egan Class of 2025 will celebrate their big day at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10.
This year’s class motto is “We Made It, Class of ’25.” The class flower is the white rose.

Seniors Kaitlyn Taggart and Presley Luze will welcome guests, and students selected Superintendent Scott Hemmer as their keynote speaker. The class will exit the ceremony to “Bye Bye” by Jo Dee Messina.
In Flandreau, graduation is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in the high school gym.
The Fliers Class of 2025 chose a more playful motto: “If today’s not the due date, then today’s not the do date.” Their class flower is the Stargazer Lily and their color is sage green.
Senior Class President Ben Kulm will speak on behalf of the class, and history teacher Owen Parsley was chosen as guest speaker.
