It was a packed house Saturday night as hundreds turned out to celebrate the grand opening of the Boys and Girls Club of Moody County’s new expansion. The event, Beyond the Blueprint: The Expansion Celebration, drew families, city and county officials, state representatives, and community partners from across the region.
The Ramsdell family, primary donors of the expansion project, cut the ceremonial ribbon just moments before the crowd streamed inside to explore the new space. The addition includes a full-size gymnasium, updated program areas, meeting rooms, and a future public fitness space.
The Club currently serves around 450 youth, and the expansion, all have said, will allow for greater flexibility and the chance to grow with the needs of the region.
City leaders also recently approved $15,000 to help outfit the gym with equipment for public use, following overwhelming community feedback calling for more wellness opportunities.
The project reflects a one-of-a-kind public-private partnership that continues to grow. See “Childcare options set to expand in a big way” on page 13 of this week’s Moody County Enterprise.
