BALTIC – The Hawk girls won in huge fashion but the boys team took a narrow loss on Bob Sittig Court last Friday night.
This week the teams are host to Oldham-Ramona/Rutland – the girls on Thursday evening and the boys on Friday. Earlier in the week, the boys were to be at 0-4 Mitchell Christian on Tuesday.

Girls
The girls won another game in big fashion topping the Bulldogs, 71-17 and raised their season record to 7-2. They jumped out to a 19-2 opening quarter lead, extended it to 47-10 at the half. They scored 10 to the Bulldogs’ three in the third period and won the fourth quarter 14-4.
Junior Brynlee Landis topped the scoring with 25 and Kaylee Voelker dumped in 17 to lead the Hawks. Hawk eighth grader Mya Rieff pulled down a team high six rebounds and Anna Zwart gave away three assists. Landis made four steals.

The Hawks shot a respectable 61 percent from the field and 83 at the charity stripe hitting five of six free throws.

Boys
The Hawks won the first and last quarters’ scoring, but the Bulldogs dumped in a few more points in between to claim the 52-49 victory.
Jackson Zwart put in 21 points and pulled down eight boards for the Hawks. Jack Mousel added 10 points and Jase Mousel had seven.
Caden Zwart and Jase Mousel both had five rebounds.

Colman-Egan led after one period, 12-8, and Baltic took a 20-19 lead into the locker room.
In the third quarter, Baltic outscored the hawks 16-10, before the Hawks dumped in 20 fourth quarter points to the Bulldogs’ 16, but it wasn’t going to be enough.
The loss puts the Hawks record at 1-3 on the year.
