Fliers overcome Hawks on the home diamond, Friday

FLANDREAU – The Fliers picked up a home win over Colman-Egan, 14-7, on Friday in the Flandreau City Park.
The Hawks scored first in the opening inning, but the Fliers an-swered back with two in the bot-tom half.
Colman-Egan retook the lead (2 runs) in the top of the second and Flandreau answered with five runs and never trailed again.

The Fliers had eight team hits and the Hawks earned seven.
Olivia Peters got the win on the mound for Flandreau. She walked eight, struck out two and allowed seven CE hits and all seven runs.
Chloe Schmidt was the Hawk pitcher walking 14 Fliers, striking out two, allowing six hits and 13 runs in three innings of work. Harper Mousel relieved Schmidt for the final three innings striking out five and giving up two hits and one run.
Addy Hammer batted 3-for-4 in-cluding five Flier RBI.
Rylee Allen and Sadie Iott both belted out doubles for the Fliers and Kaitlyn Taggart and Sarah Voelker did the same for the Hawks.
Schmidt had two hits for Colman-Egan in three at bats to lead her team at the plate.
