Fliers go 2-1 at the net

The varsity Fliers volleyball team marked up a record of 2-1 last week as they hosted a highly ranked Class B Chester team and an undefeated Hamlin team and also travelled to Henry to take on the Florence-Henry Falcons.
Chester 3, Flandreau 0
FLANDREAU – The Fliers were swept at home as they lost to Chester in straight sets by scores of 14-25, 14-25, 13-25.
Claire Sheppard led the Fliers with six kills and Lily Klein had five kills in the loss. Abby Schoberl had 19 assists and also led Flandreau with nine digs. Lily Klein and Sadie Iott had seven assists each.
Olivia Peters and Klein had two kills each while Sheppard and Lizzie Pavlis each had three blocks.
Jacy Wolf led Chester with 10 kills and Emmerson Eppard had eight kills. Lily VanHal had 27 assists while Emery Larson and VanHal had nine digs each. Larson and Eppard led the Fliers with four aces each while Addison Bates had two blocks and VanHal had one block.
The JV team lost 0-2. Layla Laterell had 5 digs and 18 assists, Ella Hoffman had 10 kills and 1 ace and Olivia Peters had 9 kills and one ace. Ella Hoffman had 10 kills and 1 ace.
Flandreau 3, Florence/Henry 0
HENRY – The Fliers made short work of the Falcons winning in three sets on Tuesday night.
Flandreau won the first set 25-21 and the second and third sets by a score of 25-19.
Lizzie Pavlis had 13 kills, Lily Klein had 11, and Claire Sheppard made nine. Sadie Iott had 18 digs, Addy Hammer had 11, and Hayden Neises had seven. Abby Schoeberl had 17 assists on the night.
Both the JV and C teams by scores in two sets. JV Team won by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and the C team, 25-9 and 25-16.
Flandreau 3, Hamlin 0
FLANDREAU – The Fliers gave the Chargers their first loss of the season on Thursday night winning in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.
Claire Sheppard led the way for the Fliers with 12 kills while Lizzie Pavlis had nine kills. Sheppard also had a team-high three blocks while Pavlis had two blocks. Sheppard served up four aces.
Abby Schoeberl had 28 assists. Klein also had a team-high 11 digs for Flandreau while Addy Hammer had nine digs.
Addison Reunedorf led the Chargers with nine kills on the night while also adding nine blocks and a team-high 10 digs. Marissa Bawdon led the Chargers with 11 blocks and Grace Opdahl had eight digs. Emily Evenson had two aces for Hamlin.
The Fliers improved to 5-2 with the win and will be at Deubrook on Tuesday night and then host the first night of the Big East Conference tourney on Thursday.
