Flier softball picks up two wins last week

FLANDREAU – Flandreau softball hosted Elkton-Lake Benton and Parker last week in games April 15th and 17th and picked up a pair of wins.
The Fliers are now 3-3 on the year. This week they were to host Sioux Valley on Monday, travel to Arlington for a double header on Tuesday and then are set to host Colman-Egan on Friday. First pitch is 4 p.m. on the softball diamond in Flandreau City Park.

Elkton-Lake Benton
Tuesday, the Flier girls found no trouble in a 14-2 five inning win over the Elks.
The Fliers picked up 13 walks and six hits enroute to the win. From that, they stole a season-high 30 bases in four innings.

Rylee Allen had two hits, one of them a home run. Sadie Iott also had two hits and Addy Hammer and Aly Schepel each had a hit.
Olivia Peters earned the win giving up three hits, two runs, striking out six and walking two.

Parker
The second win of the week came in another big way as the Fliers shut out Parker, 15-0.
Rylee Allen was hot at the plate going 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and a single along with four runs and two RBI.

Sadie Iott (three runs and two RBI) and Makenzie Gregory both had a pair of doubles. Jacey Sundermeyer was 3-for-3 with two runs.
The Fliers gathered up 13 team hits.
Olivia Peters was on the mound once again and allowed only two hits by the Pheasant batters. She struck out three.
