FLANDREAU – The Flier girls basketball team held a narrow 12-9 lead after one quarter of play, but opened the game up slightly after that when they hosted Garretson on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
At half time the score was 21-12 and after three quarters it was 37-14. Final score was 41-21.
Both teams had a cool night shooting from the field as the Fliers hit 28 percent making only 1 of 12 from beyond the three point arc. They were 13 of 47 overall. Flandreau was sent to the free throw line for 17 attempts making 14 for 82 percent.
Garretson shot 24 percent in field goals (9 of 38) and hit 1 of 2 free throw awarded.
Both teams turned the ball over often with the Fliers making 19 and the Blue Dragons 25. Garretson had 16 fouls to the Fliers’ seven. Flandreau outrebounded the visitors, 35-25.
MADISON – Morgan Sheppard dumped in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the 52-21 trouncing over Madison on Thurdsay.
Sadie Iott aided with 10 points and four boards. Madison Bushkofsky dished out four assists and Hannah Krull gave out three.
