FLANDREAU – Sadie Iott’s 30 points led Flandreau to a Region 3B Playoffs victory and a Class A SoDak 16 berth. The Fliers earned their eighth trip in nine years to the SoDak 16 with a 58-44 win over Dell Rapids.
“We probably played our most solid game of the year against Dell Rapids,” said Coach Megan Severtson. “Sadie’s last appearance on Flandreau’s court was pretty special. I’m really proud of our effort this year and thankful for the support of our community.”
Flandreau trailed 19-16 at the end of the first quarter. The Fliers then outscored the Quarriers 14-2 in the second quarter and took a 30-21 lead into halftime. Flandreau extended the lead to 47-33 by the end of the third and then scored 11 points in the fourth to the Quarriers’ 10.

Iott also had 10 rebounds and four steals. Morgan Sheppard had 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Fliers.
Addy Hammer and Hannah Krull both brought down five rebounds apiece.
The Flier girls outshot the Quarriers 39 percent to 32 and led in rebounding 37 to 30
Rory Thorson led the Quarriers with 22 points. Jersi Schultz had 12 points.
The Fliers will be the No. 13 seed in the SoDak 16 on March 6 and they’ll take on No. 4 seeded Mahpiya Luta Thursday. The game will be held at the Jones County School in Murdo. Tip off is 7 p.m.
