FLANDREAU – The Madison Bulldogs had the upper hand against the Fliers last Friday in Region 3A boys’ basketball.
Flandreau lost 49-44 despite a 17 point fourth quarter attempt at a comeback.
Madison took the first quarter, 13-9 and the second one 11-9 to put a half time score of 24-18. The Flier also scored nine points in the third quarter but the Bulldogs dropped in 16 to put the score at 40-27.

“We competed extremely hard and played a good defensive game,” said Coach Brendan Sheppard.
“Madison had a few too many athletes and we needed to shoot better from the 3-point line. Only making four shots from deep hindered our ability on the offensive end.”
Flandreau shot 36 percent to Madison’ 41. Turnovers were low with the Fliers making only six and the Bulldogs nine.
Micah Otto closed out his high school career with 12 points. Alex Poitra put in nine points while Paul Parsley had seven points, four assists and 11 rebounds, and Xavier Bien added seven.
Other seniors on the team for the 24-25 season were Parsley, Cam Flute, Alfie Henderson, Jonathan Schrader and JP Powers.
Flandreau closed the season with an 11-10 record.
