Students from Baltic, Beresford, Chester, Flandreau, Garretson, Howard, McCook Central-Montrose, Parker, and Sioux Valley participated in the Big East Conference Honors Choir October 16. The students rehearsed with Heath Weber who is the Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa, during the afternoon and performed a concert that evening. The event was held at the Chester School. “It is a nice opportunity for the kids to sing with other kids from our conference” said Flandreau High School Choir Director, Malerie Yeaton.

Lyla Thompson received an award for being a 4-year member of the Big East Honors Choir. She also received a four-year member honor last weekend at the SD All-State Choir in Rapid City.
