Excitement builds for ‘The Little Mermaid’

Family and friends got a sneak peek this past weekend of the upcoming musical, “The Little Mermaid,” which is set to perform this week at the Crystal Theatre.
The historic local theater hosts a diverse lineup of performances each year, culminating in a full-scale musical each fall that showcases the talents of actors, musicians, and stagehands of all ages.
Typically, these performances bring a lot of laughter to the audience as they watch family and friends take on roles they might never have imagined. The evenings are also simply a fun opportunity to get out locally and be entertained by an amazing amount of local talent.

“I’ve been a part of this theater community since I was little, and I really enjoy being part of every play. Anyone coming should expect a great time with fun visuals, good songs, and amazing costumes!” said Isabel Kulm, who is playing a mersister in the production.
Torah Hahn, a fourth grader, is playing a sea creature. She joined this year’s cast because she loves “The Little Mermaid” movie and thought it would be fun to be in the play.
“I think guests will really enjoy the dancing,” she told the Moody County Enterprise.
Dozens of local and regional residents make up the cast, stage crew, and orchestra pit, and months of rehearsals and line memorization have gone into making the show a success.
The Box Office will be open 11 am to 1 pm on November 6, 7 and 8 if tickets are available yet. Call 605-864-0517 to purchase tickets and reserve seats during these times. Tickets are $20, with a $10 price for kids 10 and under.
