MADISON –The Fliers were matched with a good Mobridge-Pollock team at the Dakota State University Classic on Saturday, January 4. The locals lost, 57-36.
It was a tough night for Flandreau as they were outscored in all four quarters.
Mobridge-Pollock led 13-5 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 25-16 lead into halftime. The Tigers extended the lead to 41-30 by the end of the third quarter and then outscored the Fliers 16-6 in the final frame.

The lid was on the hoop as Flandreau shot 19.6% from the field and was only 3-of-18 from three. The Fliers were led by Morgan Sheppard who had 19 points and four rebounds. Addyson Hammer had 11 points and six boards while fellow junior Hannah Krull brought down eight from the board.
The Tigers shot 45.5% from the field and were 7-of-20 from deep. Charley Henderson led Mobridge-Pollock with 20 points and five rebounds. Blake Thompson had 11 points and five rebounds and Tegan Knold had eight points and six boards.
Flandreau had 34 rebounds and Mobridge-Pollock had 33. The Fliers had 16 turnovers and the Tigers had 14. Flandreau was 13-of-21 at the free throw line and Mobridge-Pollock was 10-of-14.
Flandreau is now 3-3 andwas to play at Castlewood on Tuesday and then host Tri-Valley on Friday. Both are doubleheader contests with the boys team.
