Colman-Egan/Flandreau baseball team bows out in first round playoffs

DELL RAPIDS – The season has ended for the Colman-Egan/Flandreau High School Baseball team as they were downed by top ranked Dell Rapids, 17-7 on Thursday.
The game was delayed a day due to weather.
The Fliers had a difficult time with the Quarriers losing in six innings by the 10-run rule.

The locals could only muster seven hits, all singles. Emmett Skroch and Micah Otto each had a pair both batting 2-for-3 at the plate.
They used three pitchers over the six inni ngs. Xavier Bien started on themound and threw two innings giving up six runs off five hits. Otto came in and tossed and inning and a third with three hits and six runs allowed. Cam Flute then came in the game and finished with five runs and three Quarrier hits allowed.
The loss gave C-E/F a final season record of 5-9.Coaching the players was Mike Witte.
As of now, there is no plans for a Legion baseball team here this summer.
