Winter weather halted the completion of the Dakota Valley Conference boys’ basketball tournament held last week.
Friday’s semifinal action was postponed to Saturday.
The finals, which were to be held Saturday, were then re-scheduled for Monday (if weather conditions allowed). The Hawks were to take on Dell Rapids St. Mary’s for third place.
Final results will be available in next week’s Enterprise.

Semifinals
WHITE – Arlington beat Colman-Egan 63-37 in the Dakota Valley Conference Boys’ Basketball Tournament semifinals Saturday.
The Cardinals opened up a 19-4 lead after a quarter. They were on top by a 39-15 margin at halftime and 50-27 heading to the fourth.
Devon Heuer led a balanced Arlington attack with a game-high 17 points. Trey Ramstad contributed 14 points, Trevor Larsen 11 and Casey Stegeman 10.
The Hawks’ Dalton Voelker had 10 points, Chase Hemmer and Nate Tolley both added nine, and Alec Landis finished with seven.

1st round
ARLINGTON – The Hawks pulled away in the second half to beat Lake Preston 54-37 in the first round of the Dakota Valley Conference Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Tuesday.

Colman-Egan was up 13-7 after a quarter and 28-23 at halftime. The Hawks outscored the Divers 10-2 in the third to push the margin to 38-25.
Lake Preston hung around early in the fourth, before Colman-Egan used a big spurt to grab a 20-point advantage.
“We came out too flat, and didn’t move the way I wanted to in the first half,” said Head Coach Scott Hemmer.
“The second half we found a little more energy and were able to get some open looks.  We need to continue to gel and work as a unit and we will get to where we want to be,” he added.
Dalton Voelker scored a game-high 17 points in the win.
Ty Hiller added 12 points, Nate Tolley 10 and Alec Landis nine.
The Divers, who were playing without point guard Byron Bumann, got 11 points from Paydon Casper and 10 by Jasper Denison.

Girls
The Colman-Egan Hawk girls’ basketball team earned fourth place last week in the Dakota Valley Conference tourney held January 14, 17 and 19 in Ramona and White.

Finals
WHITE – Arlington defeated Colman-Egan 41-39 in the Dakota Valley Conference Girls’ Basketball Tournament third-place game Saturday.
The Cardinals led 10-9 after a quarter. The score was tied at 15-15 at halftime and Arlington was up 30-28 through three.

Hadley Carlson scored 11 points in the win. Marissa Baker added nine points and Makayla Nelson and Kasey Pistulka both contributed eight,
The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer finished with a game-high 13 points. Braiden Westley added 11 points and Katie Hannasch had seven.

Semifinals
RAMONA – Estelline/Hendricks outscored Colman-Egan 15-2 in the second quarter en route to a 38-25 victory during the semifinals of the Dakota Valley Conference Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Thursday.
Tied at 7-7 after a period, the Redhawks moved ahead 22-9 at halftime. They were up 31-16 heading to the fourth.
Sophie Johnson led a balanced scoring attack with nine points in the win. Kaylee Johnson and Tasha Vohlken both added six points and Kylie Beare had five.
The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer scored a game-high 11 points and Braiden Westley added 10.

1st round
RAMONA – Colman-Egan took control in the third quarter en route to beating Lake Preston 60-53 in the first round of the Dakota Valley Conference Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Monday.
The Hawks were up 6-5 after a quarter and 21-17 at halftime, before grabbing a 46-29 advantage heading to the fourth.
Mackenzie Hemmer posted a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. She finished 12-of-22 from the floor and 4-of-8 at the foul line.
The Divers’ Ashlyn DeKnikker recorded a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. She was 11-of-26 from the field and 5-of-8 at the stripe.
